About Shipping

We pride ourselves on shipping quickly when the considerations below are followed. That said, it's generally a bad idea to let your entire project hinge on the exact timing of anything UPS or freight companies handle, especially during the pandemic.

UPS

  • Most orders are shipped the same day if in stock and ordered before 1:30pm CST Monday-Friday. We also ship most Saturdays.
  • 2nd and Next Day Air do not include weekends. For example, an order shipped on Friday using Next Day Air will arrive on Monday, not Saturday.
  • Precise shipping times can be calculated here using 60618 as the ship-from ZIP code. We cannot guarantee these times- please call us at 800-509-0414 to confirm a shipping date.

Freight/LTL

  • Freight typically ships the day after you place your order due to the time it takes to prepare the pallet and the cutoff times to book the pickup.
  • Freight is quoted using residential and liftgate options. You may be eligible for discounts if the delivery address is commercial or if there is already a dock or forklift at the delivery site. Discounts are applied the day after payment and only apply to standard-sized pallets. Oversized pallets do not qualify for special discounts. Call 800-509-0414 for more info.
  • If shipped to a residential address, freight companies require a phone number where they can reach you to set up an appointment.

James Hardie Planks/Trim/Panels

In most cases, HardiePlank, HardieTrim, and HardiePanels are shipped in a closed 53' van semi-trailer unless other arrangements are made with our sales team. Liftgate is not an option due to the length of these products, so it will be required that there is either equipment that can pull over 5000 lbs, or that there is a team to hand unload the material. Any pallets or other shipping containers must also be taken by the customer. You will be contacted 24 hours prior to delivery. Any additional costs incurred due to the inability to unload or rescheduling will be the customer's responsibility.

When hand unloading painted material, carry the planks on edge and be sure to unload in even quantities (two or four planks), keeping the protective plastic together. Store the material covered in a dry location.
