C&R Full Body Harness

• A full-body harness protects workers during a fall by arresting the fall, distributing impact forces across the shoulders, thighs, and pelvis to minimize injury.
• It keeps the user upright for easier rescue, prevents suspension trauma, and works with a lanyard to absorb energy. 

Key Protective Functions:

• Force Distribution: Unlike belts, harnesses distribute high-impact fall arrest forces across the body—shoulders, hips, and thighs—reducing the risk of severe spinal or neck injury.
• Upright Posture: The dorsal D-ring (on the back) ensures that if a fall occurs, the user is held in an upright, vertical position. This is critical for preventing suspension trauma, as it allows for better circulation and makes rescue easier
• Sub-Pelvic Support: A properly adjusted sub-pelvic strap provides support for the body during a fall and while hanging, which is crucial for reducing injury risk.
• Energy Absorption: The harness connects to a shock-absorbing lanyard or self-retracting lifeline (SRL), which extends to absorb the kinetic energy of the fall.
• Prevents Improper Alignment: A correctly fitted harness keeps the chest strap, leg straps, and shoulder straps in place to prevent the user from sliding out or suffering from dangerous pressure points. 

A properly fitted harness must have the D-ring located between the shoulder blades and the straps adjusted snugly. Failure to do so can result in serious injuries, such as the harness riding up and causing choking, or failing to distribute forces properly.
